Community Service

The Plano Chapter of IAAP, has adopted Barron Elementary School, home of the Big Cats, for our Box Tops for Education Program. Members have collected over 700 Box Tops for the school. The chapter members also supported the school with a school supply drive, and Angel Tree Program for the 2010 and 2011 years. Among the supplies donated to the school in August 2011, were a laminator, binding machine, paper cutters, and over 15 heavy duty pencil sharpeners, all donated by an associate member. The Plano Chapter adopted 25 students from the Angel Tree program for the 2011 year. We are currently accepting donations of the following items for the 4th and 5th grade male and female hygiene kits that the school nurse hands out:

  • Deodorant (travel size)
  • Feminine pads
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste (travel size)

Please bring your donations to the March 13th chapter meeting. Our chapter continues to look for ways to give back to our community, so if you have any community service projects that you are passionate about, please let one of our Board members know. GO Bigcats!!
